Just a suggestions....

Buy your winter clothes in Canada, too bulky & it will just add up in your check in baggage & avoid excess baggage wt. Reasonable price na rin nman sa Canada mga jacket & they sell what is suited for winter and boots too. Just bring sweater if you arrive there summer or fall season.

Thats the lesson I learned during my first flight going to Minnesota yr 2005 (nearest US state to Manitoba)....nag panic buying din ako ng thick jacket sa pinas pero di ko nman nagamit kse di angkop sa tindi ng weather sa Minnesota...below freezing pt. Marami nman pala available sa US stores & rami pa choices with matching winter hats, gloves, ear warmers & headbands. During spring ako bumibili ng winter clothes pra super sale kse tapos na winter & be ready for the next snowy weather. Mas ok pa bilin nyo dyan yung mga coat for fall season.

Thanks rslcanada! Yan din po naisip kong dilemma ko when I started packing some of my clothing. Lol! Ginawin kasi ako so I really need to bring pa rin a few at least of those lighter warm clothing you mentioned. So I'll just bring light coat/sweater/s na muna on check in and for whatever interviews (I hardly have any seriously winter clothing anyway.. hehe. Dun ko na plan bumili para mas tama.). The rest sa bbox na lang for movers.

Btw, when you packed your bbox before (for mover, not for check in), did you have to tie it too after sealing with packaging tape? Or packaging tape is enough? Tingin ko kasi tape is enough and mover does the rest, but my dad says baka kailangan pa itali. Would appreciate your input. hehe! TIA.

your welcome badtzmaru! why movers?!? are you going to use cargo? how much is it per bbox?!? may limit ba sa weight?

just use double layered box & packaging tape is enough. aalisin din nila yan kpag may tali pa.

u know i bought my coat in greenhills rami sila dun nagbebenta ng signature coat ;D. basta tawaran mo ng todo ibibigay nman din nila.
nilagay ko lang sa check in baggage ko folded...yun lang.

regarding POF, hndi po ako masyado kabisado sa may kasama, i traveled alone, and personal decision ko yung di magdala ng more dan ten thousand, so i wont hav to declare, panay no lang anser ko dun sa declaration card my brother and wife wil be landing july, dey decided to bring 9thou lang, ayaw din kasi mag declare2x... but abwt details, sori but d ako masyado kabisado tc!

Don't bother listing all the things that you will bring. Make a summary like what I did. In the form I wrote assorted clothes as number 1 then number 2 I wrote assorted gadgets then on a separate paper I wrote all the gadgets I brought with serial numbers then number 3 I wrote assorted jewelry then write the description and value of the jewelry you will bring on a separate paper. That's it! Nobody will check on that list I just handed my list to the immigration officer and she returned it to me didn't know if she read it or not. She just asked if we have goods to follow. Hope this helps.

Hi guys. Do you also have to declare your POF(if more than $10k)in NAIA before you leave? Sabi ka si sa PDOS, declare it and be ready sa mga documents or proofs that the funds is really yours. What if kung hiniram mo lang yon? One more thing, sabi rin sa PDOS, you can bring less than your required POF, then you will just sign a promisory note in your POE and will be given 1 month to complete the POF. It contradicts the posts about landing POF here in this forum and infos in COA that you must carry the complete POF upon landing. Nakakaconfuse tuloy.

Actually we send a follow-up letter to CEM last week, we stated that if we could appeal to their office and request a certified true copy of the passport of my husband which we will be presenting to our pending application in Australia. Then last Monday we were informed by CEM that they will be returning our passport within next week pa kaya eto surprise pa rin talaga. ??? ??? (“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!”)


Guys check nyo po si Mr. DHL you might not know he’s own his way to your doorstep.

im interested virgiemaricel, toronto bound din kami lng ng hubby ko, no kids, pwedeng malaman complete address para mapuntahan brother ko at pwedeng pa reserve na kami kasi july 20 flyt namin, un brother ko nandyan din toronto pwede nya kami garantor un ang sabi nya naghahanap sya ng mauupahan daw namin kaya sasabihin ko sa kanya pasyalan nya yung place para ready na pagdating namin. thank you in advance..

Sorry po for the confusion. Yung 450 dollars po ang asking rental fee namin sa gustong makishare sa rent namin sa house. 925 dollars po talaga ang rent sa house. Since newcomers kami, naghahanap din kami ng newcomers na practical din na ayaw gumastos ng malaki sa housing needs.

There are so many apartment buildings in throncliffe park area. Pero yung apartment namin is at milepost place. 24 hours ang TTC, walking distance ang stores, fastfood, may filipino store, dollarama, church, shopping arcade etc. Good place sa mga newcomers na wala pang car kasi 24 hr ang TTC buses, near subway pa at walking distance nga yung mga stores.
