It usually takes a week at least for your application to be approved.
You'll be lucky to have your visa before that.

I think its case to case basis. I applied for my mom last March 15 until now no response. My cousin applied few day before that and just after 5 business days got the passport request. I am so anxious too for my mom's application. I want her to attendt my convocation.
