It's been 2 weeks from interview, and the lady from SC requested few paperworks right away after interview and we sent it off after 2 days, but so far my boss hear nothing from them. Is it normal or my employer has to contact SC for update? Can you please share your thought?
Thanks again!

Hi ther gysally,

What paperwork/documents did the SC officer asked from your employer?

Sc requested confirmation of hourly wage and duration of ads etc, I'd like to say paperwork request really depends on each case...hope it helps.

I see, thanks for your response. Last question, what NOC did you apply for anyway? Thank you.

Pre-Assessed..
NOC: 5122
Low wage, BC
Application sent: Jan 19th
File no: Feb 4th
Employer called ESDC: mid march - "still processing"
Employer called ESDC: June 1st -

ESDC told employer that they were really surprised that it has been taking so long (19 weeks) and that employer should send a letter with a good explanation of why they need the application processed. They said to send the letter 3 weeks prior to my WP expiring, and that would count as a valid reason, but my employer told them it had already expired and I am on implied status. ESDC said to then wait 3 weeks until implied status will expire...not very helpful/knowledgeable. We faxed them today requesting expedited processing.

Food Sector and Retail are the 2 areas most affected, you would have to have a pretty strong case to get an approved LMIA in those particular areas, probably why its taking so long.

Potential employer phoned this week. They had a phone interview with SC and they said it went well. The employer just had to fax information showing when the job was posted on indeed.ca.

Is this a good sign that they performed a phone interview? Does that mean that a decision ( positive or negative) will be made sooner rather than later?
If anyone could share their experiences that would be greatly appreciated!

Also, does a positive LMIA come by email, fax, or mail?

Thanks!!!

you should probably expect a decision in the next few weeks, based on what others on here have said. it seems the interview is the last step. usually comes by mail but if your employer gave them email/fax info too, best to keep a look out. and make sure your employer checks his/her junk mail regularly for any other correspondence!

Thanks for the help!

I guess I could be helpful and share my time line.

province: BC
noc: 0611
LMIA in support of Pr with permanent job offer with temporary work permit
pay: above median
employer submitted by mail: May 7
employer credit card charged: May 11
Phone Interview with employer: June 1
per employer SC agent wanted information showing how long indeed.ca ad had been posted. That was faxed to agent attention same morning.

Now just wanting decision!!!!

If any others can speak to how long after phone interview a decision is made that would be great!!
