Hi Guys,

WE are just planning to apply for LMIA but recent changes about advertisement has confuse us.

https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/foreign-workers/median-wage/low/requirements.html

When I was reading this link, it says Employer needs to advertise for 3 months prior to making LMIA application?

Effective August 28, employers hiring in a high-wage scenario will be required to invite all job seekers matched within the first 30 days of the job advertisement on Job Bank to apply for the position if they are rated four stars or more.

Employers hiring in a low-wage scenario will be required to invite all job seekers matched within the first 30 days of the job advertisement on Job Bank to apply for the position if they are rated two stars or more.

Has anybody encounter this?Rating system in Job Bank?? Kindly share your views if have any.

Many thanks in advance.

Delayed response here, but the rating/job matching system seems to be a pretty big bust. You need to invite everyone that matches, but I have never heard of anyone actually having a successful interview let alone finding a candidate through them. Your tax dollars at work.

At the end of the day, post everywhere you can think of. This is not the area or time to be lazy. Post on all the free options, exhaust local community centres, get the job bank up and running, then target underrepresented groups with a national scope. LMIA advertising is no joke. Paid ads are good. We have had continued success with www.aboriginaljobboard.ca, www.canadayouthworks.ca, and www.newcanadianjobs.ca. Check the organisations and do your research, posting with a fake site can be just as bad as not posting at all. Many are not even located in Canada. SC is getting wary of sites that look to be created just to satisfy this need. Somehow magically a job board exists that targets to indigenous and youth and newcomers and you didn't find anyone through it? Yeah right.

When in doubt, post more. The easiest way to get a denial is through under advertising. Don't do the bare minimum.

Good luck!
