Did your employer inform the HK immigration? If not you can request your employer to move the date of your one month notice so your status in HK will not be affected while waiting for your visa canada. That's the best thing you can do. Just make a heart to heart talk to your HK employer. And if the HK immigration still don't have knowledge of your one month notice you don't have to worry but request to move the date of your letter. Thanks for the reply denyelay. What I'm worry about is if the Canadian immigration check status from hk immigration if Im really tell the true in my letter? For I'm not yet give my notice to the hk immigration.

Ok you mean you were already told the CIC your situation that you have to leave HK on the date you have given your one month notice but still not yet. inform the HK immigration. Well, I can't answer if the CIC will do an investigation about that but if you are worried, submit your original one month notice to HK immigration. Do you still have 14 days after the date on your letter? Have you used those already?

Not yet. The date in my one notice is until March 10 so still have 14 days.

By the way, did you know that you should notify the HK immigration of your contract termination within 7 days from the date of your one month notice. So if you and your employer did not still notify the HK immigration, change the date of your one month notice. Maybe better go to HK immigration and have a query.

Yes I know. I just saw about that last night from their website. So I desired to go to hk immigration this morning and they accept my one month notice.

guys i just want to share my timeline. hope it will help
july 11, 2014~ submited my application to cvac

november 30,2014~ i went home in the philippines ( break contract)

january 29,2015~ embassy requested my passport

feb 2,2015~ i flew from phil to hk together with my family.

feb 3,2015~ i submited my passport to cvac.they told me the processing will took 4weeks so i told them my situation that i have 14 days stay in hk only. they gave me a paper and told that i will write the reason of my short stay in hk.

feb 10, 2015~ the embassy emailed me that my application was approved

feb11,2015~ i went to cvac to collect my passport with my application.

If I'm not mistaken, that is the introduction letter which will give to the officer in the point of entry. Your work permit with details will be issued in your point of entry.

Hi everyone! I'm working here in Macau, previously worked in Hong Kong. I applied for a work permit online thru a representative. We submitted my application last Jan 02, 2015 and CIC HK received it last Jan 03. We received a letter requesting the police clearances from Hong Kong and Macau last Feb 24 and a passport request last Feb 26. The police clearances should be received by the 16th of this month and my passport within 30 days from the date of the request letter.

My question is, does the processing time of police clearances in HK takes exactly 4wks or within 4wks? Thank you.

My employer is from Calgary and he applied LMIA which was still LMO that time by himself thru online. No representative. It took 6 weeks for the pre-approval and before 8 weeks final approval came.

It has been a busy couple of days so apologies for the late reply. Yes she received her passport on Tuesday afternoon her time. We have already purchased her ticket to come to Canada. Prices are going up for flights as it is a holiday week for lots of schools here.

Assuming you have all the papers (our Nanny's agency seems to have ensured she has all the papers to exit HK and enter Canada and briefed her on all requirements), I believe your employer can buy your ticket ASAP to come to Canada as denyelay mentioned to me previously.

Best of luck and thank you and others for all your information. It took ONE YEAR and 2 months from the day we hired her and hoping for no complications on her flight arrival!

i just wanna share my timeline guys...

june 30, 2014 - recieved LMO (6weeks in process)
july 21, 2014 - passed all my complete document to vac
february 3, 2015 - recieved email for passport request
march 2, 2015 - passed my passport to vac
march 9, 2015 - picked up the passport with visa stamp

have a flight on march 19, i pray for a successful arrival in canada...
