Linking MyCIC account to PR application

It won't tell you much.

It will say application closed, eligibility passed, medical passed, interview blank if you didn't have one, doc request blank, background check complete, final decision approved.

That's it.

If you want a detailed look at your completed app order the notes.

Yeah...I ordered the notes last week...but seeing as I suggested they use the myCIC app for PR applications (letters, petitions, etc) last year, I wanted to see how it worked (I'm sure others may have suggested this to them as well...)

I've also exhausted all of my attempts for today...I had my old GCMS notes and entered everything exactly as shown in the GCMS notes...tried both under the sponsor and applicant's account with the applicant information....

I submitted a technical issue report...maybe they will be nice and link it for me....ha ha ha..

I finally managed to link my application to myCIC account. I left out the passport info.

What actually worked for me, as another forum member very helpfully recommended yesterday, was to change status to single. When we applied for a TRV the PA was single at the time, so that UCI is still tied to a single status.

I was also stuck for 2 days and finally got it working today after a lot of wondering what it could be.

Seems that I am not alone in this! I wonder why CIC (IRCC) even HAS a single status as a valid response for spousal sponsorship.

After some thinking, I feel the reason why this status goes as "seems legit" according to the system is that for family class sponsorship you can sponsor others who may have a martial status as single rather than Married/Common Law/Divorced/Widowed/Separated. If my hypothesis is correct, having a system auto-reject the single status could lead to other applications within the Family Class Sponsorship category to be adversely affected and therefore they left this "feature/bug" in the system.

ALTHOUGH, they could have designed the system in such a way that under the Family Sponsorship Class, with subclass of Spousal sponsorship would auto-reject the "Single" status and prompt CIC (IRCC) to contact the applicant to obtain the correct martial status information and away we go, keeping the system correct and my OCD in check LOL.

Third day of trying with no luck. Also the system boots me out after 4 attempts (not 5). Is it just me?

Same here! This message: "Number of Failed Registration attempts exceeded" popped out after just like 4 attempts. I don't know why it is too basic and I can't even link my account! Now I need to wait for another 24 hours..uggh! :'(

Same here. My second week of 5 unsuccessful attempts. Have emailed CIC and they said the reason could be that my application has not been entered into the system. I gave up and will not try anymore

oh well.. it's a trial and error thing but I can't compare it to bingo cause idk how to play that stuff lol . I'll say it's like playing a flappy bird wherein the bird should fly as far as he can without hitting a pipe. : ;D

Hey all. I was finally able to link my husband's application (applicant) to his mycic account. Here's the link to do so: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/link.asp

entered: application number (including the letter at the start) and family name
after entering this, I tried submitting. Then it showed to me the mandatory fields to fill in (place of birth, intended city of residence, marital status, number of family members)

I had also entered 2 for the number of family members on the application (myself and him)(it is the same number shown in the #clients field on GCMS notes)

I was also able to link it to mycic (i'm the spouse) account - using the exact same information I entered when I did it with his account - application number and surname (which must be the applicant surname)

NOTE: passport information was NOT mandatory...I think it's this section that is hanging up everyone (as per previous posts).

as per previous comments, no new info was provided (he's already landed) although it was interesting to see a couple of stages left blank - review of submitted documents and scheduling of interview...

I have another theory...when you make attempts on one day (and use them all up)...somehow this triggers the system to ensure that you file is there and available the next day.....if somehow the loading of the data is a separate task for CIC that would have been a good way to "stagger" the work

Hopefully this helps others in linking theirs...

Updated with COPR, Condition 51 documents (2 updates yesterday).

Today, updated (I'm thinking update has to do with probably 'passport returned')...I got the email, but nothing attached in MyCIC..then few hours later got email from CVAC (London) about my passport...rang them and they said yes my passport/package will leave their office today/tomorrow...
