My wife will be landing at YVR in Vancouver in 4 days. I just want to double check what she needs to land.

1. Passport with visa
2. Confirmation of Permanent Residence
3. B4 forms for goods accompanying
4. B4 for goods to follow
5. Photos of jewelry

Is there anything else she needs?

Make sure she knows the Canadian address of where to send the PR card to also, if it's not already correct on the CoPR.

Why would she need to have this, since she has her CoPR?
I guess this would depend on if BC has a 3 months wait to qualify for health care like Ontario does.

BC does have a waiting period of the balance of the month a person lands plus 2 months.

However, to be clear, proof of health insurance is NOT a requirement to land, regardless of whether there is a waiting period.

Make sure your wife gets the B4 authorised and stamped by the CBSA - this is the mistake I made when I flew into Toronto. I had the form filled out but the agent who we went to, although I had ticked 'goods to follow' on my landing card snd he asked me what I had to follow, the agent did not ask to see the B4 or direct me to have it authorised. He just stamped the landing card said 'welcome back' and off we went. It caused me all sorts of issues getting my goods cleared - I naively thought having the form filled out was good enough and considered the agent at the airport knew more than I did - I should have insisted - maybe he was new to the job!

Hi all,

Do we really need to have photos of all jewelry at landing? Isn't a list of each item enough?

Thanks!

Having been recently burglarized, I suggest taking photos whether required for landing or not. Having photos will help with insurance claims and with identifying your stolen jewelry if it is found. I hope it never happens to you, but even if lost in a fire, or down a drain, you need photos.

Thanks for your advice Snowisland! Very sorry to hear that you were recently burglarized.
