Hi,

I have a query with regards to the landing,

Am a July applicant and applied from India, I received my COPR in Aug 01 2015, and it is valid till Mar 2016. Due to circumstance, i would not be doing my landing any time soon. Am hoping to do it only by Feb 2016. Is that ok, or would i have face questions as to why landing so late etc ....

Please can any one advise.

I would not delay my landing. PR is to valuable to make it wait. My thought.

Yes, I too want to do it sooner. But as i have no job offer from Canada , and would have to search only after I land, have to sort out my finances . This would also meanI would have to resign from my current job in India, and this will all take some time. Also ,If i travel during Nov/ Dec too, there might not be much job oppurtunity opening up due to the christmas/vacation period.

Hence I am planning to land around Feb 2016, and i was worried if that might invoke more questions from imm officer .

Any suggestions/ advise would be greatly appreciated.

It'll be no problem as long as you land before the expiry date of your COPR validity, everyone's circumstances are different obvs.

If you are worried, you could land and then head back to India but that would incur the cost of flights & accommodation.

Just Landing and coming back in couple of days with out getting PR Card, is that fine?

I mean,if you are travelling from non VISA exempt country for eg India, and you return back to India, what canadian VISA do you have? (as yu PR visa would be expired once you enter Canada first time)

How it works:
1. You land in Canada based on your COPR and one time immigrant Visa that you got on your passport.
2. you landing formalities would be completed and you will be aksed to provide a Canada address where the PR card can be sent (it takes almost 3 months for the card to come).
3. You go back to India without the PR card - since you are Indian citizen, you dont need to have any visa and since you are going out of Canada no body in canada will ask you for a visa.
4. When your PR card comes at the Canadian address, someone from that address (depending on whether ur friend or relative lives there) will courier you the PR card.
5. When you want to come back to Canada in Feb...use that PR card to enter....

But my sugestion would be not to follow the above process ---- I just explained so that u r clear....
Just do the landing in Feb'2016 as 'TheAwesomeMatt' mentioned everybody's situation is differnt....Settling to a new conutry is a big decision...and there are so many things that one has to settle...so I dont think Visa officer will have any issue...when u land...If the visa is valid till Mar 2016, anytime before that is OK...

when it's my turn to land I may have to return home within 30 days
Question: if i'm doing my landing at Vancouver International Airport, can I give an address of a friend in Nova Scotia for my PR card to be mailed? will this cause any problems?

Thanks so much TheAwesomeMatt and ABS_1382,

But is it ok to send the PR card through courier outside of Canada to India, because some time back I read in this forum on a similar discussion where it was mentioned as not to do so, ( *sorry , I am unable to locate that thread now* ).

Even I wont recommend that...That's why I did not suggest that option....But if you dont have any other option left...I believe the best you can do is to use the best Courier services...with the most secured courier possible...I will leave that with you to judge...You know ur circumstances....
