My husband landed a few weeks ago,
he flew from Mexico city to Montreal, tan from Montreal to Calgary

so he went through customs and immigration and did his landing in Montreal.

any flight from an international destination will go through customs at the first stop in canada, regardless if you are transiting to another city.

In my husbands case his flight landed early in the morning so it only took about 1 hour to get through all the landing, but i have Heard some people it takes up to 2 or 3 hours

but like sanrogue said, if you miss your flight because of customs and immigration, they will arrange for you to fly on the next flight without any problems.

:)

I will b leaving to Canada soon, i might have a transit stop within Canada before my destination (Vancouver) .. I wanted to know whether the process of landing will be done @ the 1st point of transit or @ my last destination of the flight? & if it is to be done @ the 1st point, how long should i consider delaying my connecting flight?
Mine took about 10 minutes at Vancouver Airport- and I was the only one there. They asked me to collect my luggage first and leave it at the front of their office, so including finding my luggage it was 15-20 minutes and that included clearing customs. I would leave a 1-2 hour between at least. You never know if the first flight you are on will be delayed, or if there is a large influx of people going through customs. Also if you have to re-check your bags through to the final destination it may take a little longer. The immigration process was the fast part though!

They are very welcoming. :)

It's just like you're having a coffee when we land in Vancouver airport and very quite because it was 7AM in the morning and they are not open yet that time so a bit relax.

I guess if you book your flight, better choose early morning arrivals rather then midday or later part of the day because it become busy at times.

your immigrations is in Toronto , i will leave at least 2-3 hours for the connections and you have to go through customs, maybe and also you have to get to your gate.
