Hi All,
We are planning to land before our IM-1 visa expiration in Jan first week. However we have few questions in this regard
We currently live in San Jose, We would like to land in Vancouver. Keeping in mind my kid who is 2 years old. We want to limit our journey to a minimum time.

1) Can we land in Vancouver and provide VO with Toronto address? As we have friends who live in Toronto, who either can send us PR cards through mail or we can collect them at a later stage? We want to move to Toronto at a later stage.

2) As we have no friends/relatives in Vancouver, can we rent a car in Seattle and drive to Vancouver?

Please suggest
Thanks in Advance

1. Yes.
2. You can, if you either find a rental car with Canadian plates, or you intend to return it to Seattle.
3. Note, that the Officer may decide that since it appears you don't intend to take up residence, s/he tell you to apply for your PR card once you have a permanent address in Canada.
