There are so many courses but we should have a clear vision of the courses and its scope after completion , my friend just jumped to the senior position in calgary board of education with annual salary basis after 3 days of completion of his master degree from university of calgary , that's the simple example ... Thanks

Thanks friend , I did one short course of 5 months , fees was about 8 thousand , it has wide scope in calgary and pay rate is 19 to 23 Iam starting job from next week , and other course Iam doing is 10 months its on the way . Both of the courses are not matched with my overseas two master degrees but they are related to my job experiences though . Thanks again

good to hear about ur progress. can u please mention the courses u are taking. i am looking orward to get into some course but do not know how to assess the job market for that. eg. health care aide, medical office assistant, etc. please let me know the course u did, the college u chose, the practicum u did and scope of jobs after completing the course.

I have been thinking of starting my Masters immediately after landing but got some advice about doing courses and all of that...

Life is busy bro.
Completed 14 month in Canada .
13 Months in Job.
1 year with my new born son.
6 1/2 Months at our own h....."

Is there any in demand certification course in the oil & gas sector for getting jobs in Alberta?

In Feb i went to Alberta Works for discussing funding etc and they told me now they only got funding for apprenticeship prog only.

And advice me to take student Loan.
So I drop idea for change for while.

Doing same job. May be some time in future think about moving to oil and gas but currently living happy life in 58-60k approx job.

Look like job market is started becoming bit tight in calgary.
Lots of people/ student moved from Ontario /BC to Calgary.

House prices gone up by 10-15% within last 12 months.

Rental goes up too.

I know as This town house i bought is appriciated $ 30k in less then 8 months.
Skyview houses prices gone up by 20-40k. What i saw 8 month ago compare to last week rates.

And house i book at mattmey homes , they told that possession will take another year.


Area i live , town house rental use to be 1100-1200 $ last year. Now my neighbour moved in feb on 1450 rent for same house.
