Hello folks,

I had my citizenship test yesterday, everything went super smooth. To begin, the parking is tight, there is only one parking lot behind the building and charges $2.30 per hour for a maximum of 2 hrs. I paid max 2 hrs and luckily I left the building before 2 hrs. There is also only one gender neutral bathroom in another building so you have to exit the main bldg and line up for bathroom if needed. The test itself was very easy, although the questions are similar to online tests the wording is very different. To make the test easier, the answers were just too obvious. By just reading the book once and practicing some online tests couple of times is enough.

My interview: Super fast, the had no concerns on my travel history and did not ask for passport, CoPR or any other documents as they had already verified my identity with my driver license before the test. My travel history though was very short, that is probably why they didn't ask to see my stamps. However I saw people showing stamp by stamp to officers to prove their physical presence. Also, bring your landing paper (CoPR) to your interview as many were asked to handle their CoPRs.

My oath will be at the end of April. They have asked the government for 8 oath ceremonies for April to clear the majority of October applicants. They are now scheduling ceremonies for the end of March to finish all September applicants. The lady who interviewed me, who is also a senior official, assured me my oath along with many Oct applicants will be before the end of April.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting for test invite, please update my tracker:

Test date: March 12 (20/20)
Decision Made: March 13

There were between 30 to 40 people. Max capacity is 43 so I wouldn't be surprised if 43 was the actual number.

Read the book completely, I was asked a question that was in the last page of the book, and it was never asked in any of the online tests. If you have any other questions, send me a PM.

How was your test today? Any thing you can share with us? Was there also 20 to 30 people doing test today?

Btw, it seems the office has not sent new tests invitation for a while.

Congrats! When you say you have a very short travel history, how many does that really meant?

It was good to see few test invites 2 3 weeks ago, silence is deafening now. I doubt if any of us will see action till end of April.

I think most of the people who didn't get test invite yet are the ones with the fingerprint requests. This is what causing delays. I might be wrong though.

ic. Yeah, I am not sure as well. I called them up and they told me that they processed my fingerprint results. All the background checks are done 2 weeks ago. They didn't see any problem in my application. They told me I should wait for the test invite now. Not sure what is holding they up though. It is frustrating considering how small kitchener waterloo is. Anyways, good luck guys.
Not really.. I haven't received fp request and nor have many others. No clue what's holding up.

I think IRCC Kitchener really had a lot of applicants from October. When I had my interview the lady told me that they are asking the government for more citizenship ceremonies at their office as they have a lot of applications after the new rules were released (they asked for 8 ceremonies in April). Honestly there are only 5 qualified officers working at IRCC Kitchener, this office seems very small for the huge number of applications they may have received. Also they deal with applicants from Waterloo, Kitchener, Campridge, Guelph and Stratford to the best of my knowledge.

makes perfect sense now. I believe, we just have to wait until april or May. They weill surely get it done before May I believe.

Nay, it's the lack of resources causing the issue. They've had to deal with a big 2017 backlog already. I think we'll see another flurry of test invites by late March/early April
