at what point after kingston received your application did u hear word from them / immigration?

SURELY there must be a reason as to why u waited that long...not that that excuses the wait, so pardon my directness.....but no sah!!!

So I had emailed my MP's secretary on Monday......

"Hello XXX,

Just wondering if you could do another inquiry as it has been some time since the last one and still no news. I will let you know that my husbands medical and criminal certificates have expired and in August he redid them unprompted by Kingston. I am preparing to visit Jamaica in the next 2 weeks and would love to be able to bring him home with me. There is still time to make that possible if Kingston could finish our process up. Just wondering what the hold up is....

So I called CIC this morning and after 1/2 hour I got thru. They said since they have not starting working on my application yet, that is why I cannot access the ECAS even though I have a UCI and I can access my hubbys info. I did get some news that totally depressed me though, here I thought because there was an officer's name on the label when I sent back in my application, that I would not have to wait the processing time again but that is not so, I am back in line again and they are currently working on apps received July 12 and they received mine (again) Sept 19th. What the #($#$# more can go wrong in my life right now? I go one step ahead and 3 back.....I usually keep a level head but I am just about to loss it right now!

Hi Chickie! I agree with the others. Don't listen to them because I had the same issue. Our app was sent back to me with a label and initials of an immigration officer (at least that's what the label said) for me to send it back to. I couriered it back to them and within 1 week of receipt they completed my sponsorship portion and I got an email that my file was being transfered to KG VO. Keep your head up girl and continue hoping for the best!

well that is what I thought too but he said no, the initials are just for someone in the mail room, they are the ones that sent it back to me......I truly hope it isn't true but I don't get my hopes up on anything anymore. That being said, I checked some of the other time lines and even though the guy said they are working on July 12th, some people from the middle of august of heard from them so that eases my mind a likkle bit!

Anada, truly i don't loose my cool cause it don't get me nowhere except a running nose and a headache (like I have now) and it didn't change anything so why bother stressing ya know. Now that I have sat back and thought about it, I am calmer and I know that I have placed myself in God's hands and will go where he takes me!

If I remember correctly the underneath the initials on mine it said "immigration officer". The call centre agent could be mistaken. They don't necessarily know what the other hand is doing.

For that last 8 years I've been paying my child support with no problems. my ex spouse called FRO ( Family Responsibility Office) on me in May 2012 after being late for a month. FRO sent me a letter in June 2012 stating that I am not to send my spouse any more payments. I spoke with them and was able to make arrangements and they would send me a payment schedule with bal. on arrears. That took 2 mos. I was at that point 3 mos. in arrears. I will be up to date with payments by Oct. This does not account for the 19 mos in proccessing time in which our application had not be completed ( when we applied the site states KIN was taking 16 mos to complete 80% of cases), unless they were waiting for my ex to report me to FRO so they can delay some more LOL. My Wife attended her interview in Mar. 2012 and was told all is good but need to redo med & pc. Did all that and to this day nothing. I called my MP who was no help, told to wait (stated that if we inquire too much we might not be put back in queue and that they are busy and that "they are human too") Ordered my GCMS time stamped July 24 2012 which eligibility-passed, med-passed, security & criminality- not done. My wife has lived in Jamaica all her life and has only traveled twice to the states. Our case seems straight forward sponsoring my wife and her child ( father signed off on child and does not support child, I do), KIN 23 mos and counting in process how many more. Just a question since I have a family now wondering if I should be going to court to get a reduction on my child support payments?

Unless you are paying an ungodly amount of child support for your child in Canada, they will not lessen your payments. You would have to claim hardship and prove that it causes a hardship to you to pay that amount. And a judge doesn't care what you drive (ie brand new vehicle therefore car payments) or what you pay for a mortgage (ie big house on the hill).

I am not making a judgement by any means so please don't take what I say as rude or hateful. But please don't punish your first child just because you have a new family. Again, that may not be the case. After all, we are just strangers and I don't know your past, present or future... I just see this happen for the wrong reasons and if this is an avenue for you, make sure it is for the right reasons

My intentions is not to make my child do without in anyway but on the contrary because i could have agreed with the FRO payment plan ($100 a month for the arrears for 18 mos. but opted to pay everything in full and up to date). I guess my problem is with my ex.

luchan, as Jammy mentioned you will not get a reduction in child support. My daughter went through the same issue with the father refusing to pay due to a new family and was told to pay up immediately or they will garnishee his wages. they followed up each month to esure he complied. The father was told very bluntly that it was not the childs problem if he choose to have another family

I hear ya with ex's, my ex tried everything she could to delay things and would only back off once I told her I would cough up some $. I thought I could gain a little leverage by saying I would delay alimony but soon found out that this was a very poor option.
