Does DM mean sponsorship approval? or does it mean after your spouse receives the call/email from Kingston visa office? so confused..

I emailed KIN the other day to inquire about if they had received hubbys medical or not, just to make sure. I know I was told the other day that they may not post it online, but I think I just needed to hear something from them that things are progressing. They sent this below (and confirmed AOR2 that I didnt know about)

Dear Mrs. McGregor,

This is in regards to your query.

The Family Class application for your spouse was received in Kingston on 17 March 2015. We have received the medical report and the results are valid until 1 April 2016. The application is currently in the queue for initial review. It will be reviewed in accordance with its place in the queue for applicants in this category, based on the application received date.

Our office cannot provide you with an update of your spouse’s case status by email on a regular basis, but rest assured we will contact you when the file has reached the next processing stage.

In order to serve all clients better, we will be unable to answer further correspondence at this time.

It means a decision has been made on your sponsorship application. It could mean you are approved or denied! In most cases it is good news. They will send the sponsor an email or letter through the mail regarding that decision. So be sure to check your email or mailbox.

Yeah, I noticed that im the one getting the emails between me and hubby... he doesnt get any, but we gave them his email address too

it depends! For sponsorship approval the letter will go to the sponsor and for PR approval, emails/letters should go to the applicant, but again it all depends on the email/address you put down on your application as the main firm of contact and correspondence from CIC! For my application we put down my email and mailing address as the main form of contact (I'm the sponsor)! We did it this way because the mailing system where my husband is, is unreliable and he doesn't really check his email often, so we decided that I should get all correspondence from CIC!

Well it depends, DM is Decision Made. On sponsorship, the sponsor will receive an email or a letter about this decision what ever if it is negative or positive. But Decision Made on Permanent Residence is usually when the shiny visa is ready to be ship. Usually ur husband has been called or emailed before this to send his passport in. On the spreadsheet, the only DM u see is on Permanent Residence. If u see Decision Made and your hubby did not receive an email or a call to send passport in , usually a denial letter will follow. But never trust that Ecas status. My hubby has Decision Made before PPR and 1 week later he been called to send passport in. Its always depending on ur visa officer. Some of them update Ecas and some dont care.

We told you it would happen. Guess what we were asked to send a return envelope on the 28th our visa is ready
Yeah!! So waiting on dhl to call with a return waybill number to track package

That is awesome! Very happy for you. It was so quick. Some people have waited a lot longer for their visa to be issued from POS. Wonder if the fact that you (or your lawyer) were corresponding with them re. DHL courier made a difference....

How long did it take exactly between the time they got your passport to the time they issued the Visa?

BTW, we got news about PPR two days ago and our on-line status has not been updated yet. Just informing you guys. I guess some VISA officers are slow at updating the system or maybe don't update it all......

I will keep checking.

And BTW : Provide the return enveloppe with the passport, not only the passport, dont wait for them to ask you the return enveloppe, it must to be provided.

So maybe you will see In Process or maybe you will see only Decision Made when they will be ready to return the passport with the shiny visa !! Or maybe you will only see the best status ever which is : 5.You entered Canada at the______International Airport office on ________, 201__ and became a Permanent Resident!
