Hello yaadies,

I am looking to sponsor my spouse in Jamaica.

I have read that a notice of assessment is usually required to sponsor in family class but If I haven't filed taxes before considering that 2019 is my first working year in Canada, is it acceptable to just provide proof of employment, pay stabs and finances etc with an attached letter explaining why NOA is not included with application.

Does anyone have an actual experience or has seen a testimonial of this that would support your thoughts on the situation I mentioned?

Provide a letter explaining why you do not have a NOA and include all the rest of supporting documents... you can send you 2019 NOA by webform after you file in 2020

Hey everyone...I shall soon be a very active member/newbie in this group. I got married 2 weeks ago and I'm starting the process for my Husband, however I have one problem.. The Police certificate...It seems like since they've moved buildings there is a delay. We applied 3 weeks ago for the 5 day process and they told him today to come back in 3 weeks! I was hoping to submit the application before that. Just wondering if it makes sense to wait of submit with explanation to follow? I'm annoyed with the system an mi just start lol.

Your application will be returned... sometimes takes months for it to be returned... might as well just wait the 3 weeks as even if you have an explanation your application will be considered incomplete and they will return it.

My mp is useless. I did get in contact with them. First they told me that this is an issue for the immigration minister, and that canada doesnt have one yet, and then told me that Canadian immigration doesnt do appeals so good luck to me. Facepalm. These people are so dumb, i wouldnt want them touching my file. I wrote back and told them they were wrong and that they sent me the appeal forms. Their response was to go ahead and do the appeal, they dont deal with immigration issues. Useless.
Buuuutttt i did tweak my reconsideration letter, and i sent it in. I sent it with pics of my past hubbys headstone, also an email from the deputy clerk of court from the coroners court stating i would have to come to jamaica myself, and the steps to do it, also an artivle from the gleaner showing it was common that deaths arent registered and how they had a whole online campaign to remind people to do that, along with the process of how to obtain a death certificate for a violent death, and how i wouldnt be able to do that from canada.

I also stated that i wanted proof that i had "married someone else" after meeting my sponsor, as that person is unamed, and there is no truth to it at all. I told them the officer didnt read the file, that it was obvious when she lied about my surprise ghost marriage, she had my birthday as my husbands, and how she actually said in the interview that shed have to read the file again.

Yup, the refusal letter. It actually states “the applicant was surprised to hear your sponsor had married someone shortly after you met her and had divorced shortly before your own claimed marriage"

Yeah no shit he was surprised lol. So am i.
