it says ''Newer cases are expected to be finalized in 2017''. What do you consider newer cases?? If we applied June/july 2015...........

I have the same question. How to tell whether we are newer or older :

From April 2015 to March 2016, the service standard of 11 months was met 42 percent of the time.
80 percent of applications were processed in 17 months or less.

So, we are under 11 months or we are under 17 months?
If process time is 17 months i had better renew my work permit.It expires Jan 2017.

i got a letter from cic stating to link my paper application with online cic account,they sent a link ,i tried ,still it is saying the same reply,could not find my file ,,did u guys revcieve any letter like this?

Hi Cali, just wondering if you have reported it as technical issue before?
I guess it is the email reply from your report. If not, maybe CIC want
paper based applicants to link to MyCIC account.

Checked Sept-Oct 2015 thread and they also received an email about linking their account.

It's decided by that you applied under OINP or PNP in 2015 8) 8)..if any other province then I have no idea

Yea i read this too on there website, what they mean was that 42% of those applicants were processed within 11 months, and 80% where processed in 17 months, this is just a review on how CIC visa offices process application, that means, you will calculate where your application falls between April 2015 to March 2016 so its then you no may be its 11 or 17 months

Have checke your timeline, Alberta applicant and you already did medicals, well i dont tink there is any need to renew your work permit, now you stil have 5 months and am very sure you will get you visa before december, so i dont tink there is anytin to wory about,keep enjoying

My case is better as i have my WP until jan 2017.. I HAVE MY Frends who is on implied status as of now..

its really a SAD feeling after investing EXTRA bug on PNP and EXTRA Time...

I regret doing it in paper app process..

EE seems wayyy faster... 6 months !!! and here with us 1 year 6 months
