jobbank is a national database and is reliable. Haven't used monster as much, so can't comment on it. Other great sites are
www.careerbeacon.com
www.careerbuilder.ca

If you interested in a specific industry, also use google. For example, if you are an accountant, you can enter "accounting jobs in Ontario or in Canada" in google and see what you find.

Get a LinkedIn account. I found my employer in LinkedIn and several interested companies.

Search for "Equal Opportunity" companies and employers. Most often these companies waive the 'Canadian Work Experience' requirement (i.e. previous work experience in Canada).

Some companies, owing to special skillsets they require for their openings, can't find people to fill them, so they turn to immigration. Since new immigrants don't have previous Canadian Work Experience (previously having worked in Canada for a Canadian employer), they waive the requirement, and become equal opportunity employers (for new immigrants and new graduates entering the labor force).

Are you trying to get food counter attendant job at A&W? If you are, it's better to go to the store and talk to the manager/ supervisor directly.

I would agree with scorpion_ca here. FCA jobs - go direct. Usually they already have application forms in store and a manager can be on hand to provide an interview immediately.
