Hi All,

I'm an IT professional with 11 years of experience working in countries like NZ, India & UK with global organizations. I'm looking to migrate to Canada and is trying to understand about the job opportunities and salary expectations.

I'm a NZ PR holder and is settled here with my family but do not see much of job opportunities which is my main concern in settling down here for long term / life. Hence thinking of migrating to Canada and settling down but is trying to understand is it any better or is similar to NZ.

My IT skills are as follows: Java / J2EE certified developer, SAP Portal, Enterprise Mobility & Hybris developer. I've extensive experience in these areas with very good communication skills. I've got experience of working in a lead / senior developer role. I would really appreciate if you guys can assist me in understanding how much of salary I can expect with genuine experience and expertise in above areas. This would help me in understanding if it is better to move to Canada or not. Also how much of job opportunities are there in Canada as here in NZ there are not many big organizations who can provide good growth opportunities with good role & salary.

Believe me getting the right directions here will help me to decide if I should go ahead with the express entry process or not. Eagerly awaiting your responses to assist me in the right directions.

Thanks in advance.

AW.

AW,

Scan the following websites with your experience and I believe you will get a fair idea about what you are looking for.

www.indeed.ca
https://www.workopolis.com/shared/
https://www.monster.ca/

The following web address also lists salary averages for most occupations.
http://www.canadavisa.com/canadian-salary-survey.html

I am sure this will suffice.

Thanks for your response Russ. I've seen the above job sites and actually get quite a big range starting with 80K to 150K so little difficult to gauge the reality. The salary survey link also you posted, I had a look and see for any kind of roles it actually shows the same value which isn't very helpful and does not show the real picture.

So maybe if I can have real inputs from people who knows from someone or themselves will really be helpful. I do not want to go in by grass is always green on the other side because moving with a family isn't really an easy task and just dont want to move for the sake of moving. If at all I can get something better then it makes sense.

Looking for more insights from everyone.

Thanks all for your help!!
