My husband was supposed to have his Oath ceremony today (Winnipeg) over zoom but they told him that it was a mistake and he can't take the Oath today and should wait for another Oath ceremony invitation

I'm hoping they sent the certificates directly to applicants. In another thread here someone mentioned that sometimes they are shipped to Vancouver first then got distributed to other provinces. Which obviously will take much longer with regular mail...

If IRCC is shipping certificates to local offices before sending them out to applicants then sorry to say this but I don't think we have the brightest minds at IRCC. All of these would be solved with e-certificates. They should just standardize it so that in-person oath doesn't have a 6 week advantage over online oath ceremonies.

I understand waiting time is difficult for everyone but e-certificate suggestion - something of very important - is quite absurd. It’s going to be so easy to forge - no matter how much they “protect” it.

Tomorrow people will talk about having only e-passports.

Somethings have to be tangible - you can’t live in a e-house or marry e-spouse and have e-children :D

I doubt you would be able to forge an e-citizenship certificate, when you apply for a passport they would already have all your information, Its not like you can take a forged e-certificate and apply for a passport. In fact, even many educational institutes send their diplomas or degrees by email too

You say this on an online forum that you used your email to sign up for. Do you send more letters or emails this days? If you think you can forge an IRCC document then go ahead and try.

And yes soon everything will be virtual. Adapt or go use abacus and stone tools

The person would get arrested so fast and may face serious immigration and criminal consequences. IRCC no matter the document you provide if they cannot verify it on their systems they won't let you in or give you a service.

Do you think IRCC did not think of it before initiating the e-certificate?

Thank you. Some persons really dislike change. E-certificates is basically the fastest and actually secure way to get certificates to applicants without having to worry about lost in the mail. And once one can access it they can print out 100 copies for themselves
