hello "i am the walrus" . since you did bcom and now going for global business management. In my opinion ..it wont attract course mismatch since you are into commerce field and also this course is post graduate course. gbm is generalised course and does not need a specific field of study to gain entry into course.

i am giving my opinion on non expert basis.

originally i got admission in september 2011 but for some reasons i had to defer my admission to summer 2012.i have defered my admission to summer 2012. i will apply for visa in feb 2012. how many chances are to get visa for summer. because i heard from a consultant that visa office is reluctant to give visa for summer. mostly visas are issued for january or september intake.

Hi,

You will get visa only for the entry date as mentioned on your LOA.

I would suggest you not to wait till Feb 2012 but apply in the first week of Jan 2012.

Jan 2012 applicants can apply for visa after 1st Sep 2011 ....... so its tym guys ...

priya goyal..the financial planning course mainly involves tax management in canadian set up apart from other financial management concepts. I think the course is offered at gbc under spp scheme. Its sad to hear the course mismatch reason . ??? SINCE YOU ARE MBA FINANCE .. the vo might have seen you as potential immigrant due to the fact that canadian tax knowledge is of no use in home country . I am also fearing this reason for my own visa since i am indian chartered accountant and willing to know canadian accounting for outsourcing from india later.. this study mismatch reason is very easy and wide in scope to reject applications :'(

Hi,

This is the 3rd case on this forum where an applicant hold MBA from a University and applied for a one year course/certificate at a college level in Canada, and got refused. I think in such cases its not an easy way (sometime I feel its almost impossible!) to convince VO of your MBA credentials.


I can only advise one thing! Take GMAT and score really well, and apply for MBA in a good Canadian Business School. You will get through admission ONLY after;

1. Good GMAT score of 570+
2. Telephonic Interview with MBA official.
3. Minimum 2 years of quality work experience.
4. Strong SOP
5. Good academics and IELTS

I repeat visa is all about "profile", all reasoning like study mismatch is just an excuse. Its "quality" that must comes out of your credentials. Collecting LOA with in 10 days from your cousultant office desk is not going to help much.
