Is there anyone in the forums whose entry has been denied by CBSA

Hi,
My brother is all set to travel at the end of this month for fall session. We have support letter from the college and he got the visa approval before March 18.
I am hearing of students asked to go back by CBSA. Is there anyone here whose entry was denied? or you know someone with same circumstances. Any leads would be helpful

Thanks! I read it but just wanting to know the exact reason why the students are being sent back. It is advised that they should arrive only 2-3 weeks before their classes which might be a reason that they were sent back because it is still a little bit early to arrive to be able to start classes for September or they might not have a clear quarantine plan. If the border officer isn't satisfied with your plans, he/she might deny your entry.
Just wanting to know the reasons why this is happening or is it just people spreading rumours!

What i heard is the CBSA officer is checking the website of university/college to see if the course is online/hybrid. if the website mentions that its online, then they are turning away students. OR you should be so confident to convince the officer that you have some essential reason to enter even though its online.

Unless the course is listed online on the college/uni website as being IN PERSON classes then the students are being turned away. Time difference and power cuts are NOT ENOUGH to be considered essential to enter Canada

Of course it is, what those reasons are is the key here. For example, even if all regular classes are taught online but the graduate student also performs research from the beginning then with the right support letter that points to physical presence being essential the students travel should be deemed essential. Hence just stating that if classes are taught online then entry will definitely be refused is probably not true in and of itself. Details really matter here. Also guidelines point to several other issues border agents pay attention to: quarantine plan in place, immediately start to study after quarantine,...

Well, I am about to via the US. Still trying to convince myself to give it a try and my permit was issued after March 18. But that date is irrelevant for anyone entering from the US which is very different than when entering from any other country.
