Hi,

I apologize in advance for posting my question here but I could not find proper thread for my question.

I am an international student, currently studying 8 months (actually saying 1 year) post-secondary program at Humber College. I will be graduating in August, 2012 and after graduation, I will get work permit of 8 months (actually should get 1 year, but right now imagine for 8 months).

I was looking for PR option which I can apply for within 8 months of work permit. As Saskatchewan and Ontario provinces are only available if one has 1 year of work permit. In other provinces, first I have to apply for PNP and based on that, I could apply for PR.

My question is, with the 8 months of work permit, which province I have to go?
My field is related to marketing and all provinces required 3 to 6 months of job with permanent job offer in the same field as study. so What are the situation for marketing related job in all provinces.
Can I use employment or staffing agency to find out permanent job offer?

Please reply soon, I really appreciate your feedback. Thank you in advance for your help.

You can come to BC, you can apply for PNP immediately once you have the job offer.

But if you hold a diploma, PNP only accept a canadian diploma from a public college or university.

does not matter for degree holder.

Hey,

Thanks for reply. It means I don't need to wait for specific amount of time before applying for PNP?

I am currently studying "Marketing Management - Ontario Graduate Certificate Postgraduate" 8 months course from the Humber College. Please let me know my chance.

Thank you for your help.

Where did you get this information from, buddy? As far as I know, if an international student successfully completes a graduate certificate program of 1 academic year (8 months) which requires a previous degree/diploma AND has a permanent, full-time job offer in NOC 0, A or B, that student is automatically eligible for Ontario PNP. Pretty sure the length of the applicant's work permit is not one of the criteria.

Also, a friend of mine completed a 1 yr PG certificate program and got a 1 year PGWP, not 8-month. What did your acceptance letter say? Length of program: 1 year or 8 months?

It shows 2 semester starting from January to August.

Also, my study permit is going to expire by 31st August, while I will be graduate by end of July. Should I apply for study extension If I apply post graduate work permit before end of the August? However, I will get 90 days period after graduation.

Thanks for your help...

Hello everyone,

I’m in a similar situation as ajnabee2. I’m currently studying 8 months post-secondary program at Centennial College (Toronto), program Computer Repair and Maintenance (not a post graduate program) and I also will graduate in August, 2012.

So, I'm trying to figure out which province is best for this situation. It looks like Nova Scotia offers the shortest PNP (only 3 months) and the other two possible provinces include Manitoba and Alberta.

I couldn’t find any information about the International Graduate stream under the Nova Scotia PNP on this forum. If anyone have some info please share it with us.

Thanks in advance.
