Insurance Requirement for Permanent Landing (after receiving PR Card)

Hi All,

We had a query regarding the nature of Insurance we need to procure at the time of our permanent landing (We completed our "soft" landing in Oct '17 and have since received our PR Cards)

We are travelling back from India on the 21st of May on a one way ticket to settle permanently. Since the Ontario Health coverage commences after 90 days, we need to buy insurance to cover this period.

We have 2 options which we are explroing:
1. But a local Canadian Insurance from a provider like Manulife / Dest Canada
2. Buy a 90 days travel insurance from an Indian Provider like ICICI Lombard

We will sincerely appreciate any help on this regard. Thanks in Advance!

Get insurance from a Canadian company. If you need to claim or contact them, you will find it much easier. I used Manulife.

Thanks Zardoz. I guess it makes sense to go with a Canadian provider..
