It was pretty fast for me! Between DM (Jan 6), receiving landing appointment (Jan 11), to actually landing (Jan 18), was less than 2 weeks? It was a pleasant surprise, I wasn't expecting on getting my landing appointment for 5 weeks (according to the not so lucky ones on the forum).

And yes, Etobicoke.

That's really fast!. Hubby got DM on Jan 20th.... we are still waiting to hear from Halifax.

yeah.... they have put us through the wringer. It has tested our patience, and our ability to budget....

I still have a couple of 2012 applicants that haven't gotten DM yet, especially bjohnson921.

My neighbor is a 2012 applicant... they applied exactly a year before my husband and I.... she is from Russia, not sure if that is the hold up.

Any idea how long until Etobicoke office contacts me for my Landing?

It took them two weeks to schedule an appointment for me.

Do we receive a letter for landing or will they call? Hubby and I don't usually answer the phone unless we know the number that is calling.

They don't make calls. They either send a landing letter by mail or by email. By mail is the most common.

I've heard couple of times that cic actually called the applicants, but it was just to confirm the some information.

My landing letter came by email. Just make sure that you monitor any email/residential address that you have ever given to cic...my letter was sent to an old email, that has been updated over a year ago...

How did you determine that?

The Etobicoke office is one of the slowest and many people have waited a lot longer than 3 weeks.

...Well I know people who got theirs in 1, 2 weeks. And mine came 2 weeks and some days. And good to see others confirming this above

My concern is that my husband's drivers licence is linked with his visitor visa, so it expires on February 3rd. They will not renew it until he has paperwork proving he is here legally, and we sent in the visitor visa renewal (putting him on implied status). Do you think they will make a big deal about his DL being expired? Should we take something else? I am such a worry wart!

It doesnt matter if his DL is expired. They wil likely accept it. CIC is more interested in the confirmation of sponsor's address. Not the applicant.

I highly suggest that you pick up your phone, because that's how I got my DM.

The first call I got was them checking to see if I have done my second medical, and this was when we found out my medical was lost. This led them to look at my file closer which led to them finding my second medical attached to my first medical. Had i not pick up this call, they probably would assume I didn't do my medical as requested, and possibly cancel my application which I don't even want to think about.

The second call was them checking to see if I was still living with my sponsor or not. You see, when we moved, I updated my address but my sponsor did not. As soon as I confirmed that we still live together, they right away said, great, congratulations, your application has been completed. You will receive a mail from us shortly. I landed less than two weeks after this phone call.

The calls were from "No User ID".
