It cannot change to a different CIC office once it is determined unless you have moved and thus CIC would then reassign a new Landing office thus more delay. Won't make it faster if you could actually change CIC landing office.

Even if you were to land in a month or 6 months. There is another 2 month wait for your PR card to arrive in the mail. Airlines will not accept COPR as official document to enter Canada. Must require a PR card to board the plane.

With you being from a visa exempt country, you may be able to get away with it, flying back to Canada using your Sweden Passport. Once you enter Canada, they will be a delay in determining your official PR status before allowing you back in.

Exactly, i wouldn't risk to get more delays, all we can do now - wait.

Lets pray Im the lucky one that lands in a month.....even if it takes 8 weeks after that, I will make it. We have been so unlucky with so many delays during our immigration journey with soon to be 600 behind us.....maybe we will have a lucky break in the end -hope-

You would have to look at my timesheets below in link and see the average time for Edmonton office takes.

I'm sponsoring my wife, and her file isn't entered in the timesheets, but so far we have been waiting 269 days after receiving DM (received DM on April 8, 2013 for Vancouver), and we're still waiting now.

We were told 3 months was the maximum time for interviews to be scheduled. After 3 months, we were told 6 months. After 6 months, we were told 9 months.

I guess the Vancouver office is the busiest office in Canada?

So we're quickly approaching 6 months with no word from the Vancouver office. And now to understand we may be told to wait even longer just seems unreasonable at this point. We applied close to 2 years ago! Can somebody please explain why some inland applicants [waiting to land at the Vancouver office] only wait a couple months, while others wait around 6 months? It must be a sort of discrimination or something, no?

???

Wow..If I was in your position I would call /email/ visit CIC office everyday . They must have made a mistake , I never heard of 269 days after DM and still no landing appointment.

I don't think it's a form of discrimination so much as how many folks they have on their 'plate' to get landed for that area. My particular area only took a few weeks to get landed from DM, but then on landing day, there were myself, my husband and another couple. That is only 2 couples for an entire afternoon. Now imagine the hundreds and hundreds, maybe even thousands of immigrants that need to be 'landed' in the Vancouver area .... Yep, it will likely take some time to get a landing letter, however I think if folks have not gotten one inside a couple of months they should extend the effort, no matter how much a pain in the arse it is, to call CIC weekly to get an update. There has been at least one case here where the person got their landing letter in the mail in the afternoon and was supposed to be landing earlier that same morning. Things can and will go wrong. Do whatever you need to do from your side to ensure that you keep them moving forward on your information.

Good luck and happy landing!
