Congratulations to everyone who got good news on the forum... truly happy for you guys.

I joined this forum to share my journey whether good or bad and sad to say that my journey ended on a very sad note. I got AIP and DM and a Landing letter was sent to me to land at the Etobicoke Office but my hubby wrote a letter to immigration to withdraw the sponsorship and then made a call to immigration to have me deported back to my country immediately. Yes the unthinkable happened.... I was picked up and sent to the Holding Center. Once I got there the hubby came and broke down in tears saying it was a mistake. To cut a long story short I was released from that facility and now seeking legal advice about my situation. Different lawyers all said the same thing that they are surprised that CIC took that kinda step with someone who has a landing letter already as they claimed that I was "out of status" ..... Here I was on the forum some months ago telling JiggyZealous how sorry I am that his wife withdrew his application and now here I am today saying the same about mine. This situation changed me a lot. I really was thinking hard whether I should put something like this on the forum knowing I am a private person but the forum was where i used to come for peace, for support, for information. And now my forum journey has ended I just want to say to everyone thanks for all the support and love... I don't want to single out anyone because everyone played a part in helping me thru this process. Yes I am hurting but I know I will be ok and God has my back, the mere fact that am still here said a lot that God is good.

If you already had a landing date don´t you count as PR? according to CIC web page the obligatory 2 years of living with your husband are not a MUST if abuse happens to you. CIC web page says:

Being abused or neglected by your sponsor or their family?
You do not have to stay in the relationship to keep your status in Canada if you are being abused or neglected.

If you are affected by the conditional permanent residence measure, you can request an exception.

If you are not affected by the conditional permanent residence measure, you should remember that in Canada, abuse is not tolerated. You do not have to remain in an abusive situation. Pages 7 and 8 of this brochure provide information you can use to get help

Requesting an exception
If you have received conditional permanent residence status, you can request an exception from the condition at any time during the two-year conditional period. You can do so by calling the CIC Call Centre at 1-888-242-2100. Any information you provide will be kept confidential.

I do not know if this could apply to you but it could definitely make a point in your behalf when you request status in Canada.

Again I am really sorry this happened to you, I can´t believe someone could do this.

Congrats on everyone who got AIP and DM. I finally received the letter the CIC sent on 20th Oct. They said I am eligible for sponsoring my husband....(i suppose that is AIP) Could my husband apply an OWP with this letter? or He should wait for his DM? Thank you so very much!

Heya esthersun,

Your husband could have applied for OWP back with the original application. He can apply anytime actually, but couldn't have been granted the OWP until after the AIP was received. So get him to apply and should go through no problem, be sure to reference your app of course.

help!! INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Hello I was hoping someone could shed some light on my case.
We received a refusal letter on the 29th of September, due to the fact that the representative that we were using did not submit some documentation after we had signed it not once but twice. We did remove her as our representative before we got the refusal letter but had no idea that this document was outstanding. anyhow I have lots of proof to back our end except the receipt that she indeed did send the document. I and just sent an appeal to Vegreville today. and am wondering what will happen next and how long it will take to hear anything back. The reason for refusal was not due to legitimate relationship so I am wondering if we have any chances. I am furious with the Immigration Consultant and cant even begin to describe the nerves I feel. Any help form anyone please!!!

Wooooooo Hoooooooooo!!!! We got AIP yesterday!! OWP will follow shortly! I see there has been a lot of good news around the board lately! Congrats to everyone!

DM will be quite a while for us yet, as the file is now transferred to Kingston Jamaica to process my husbands son. But the ball is rolling and Im feeling so much better!!

its the form that's to change or extend the visa.....I don't recall the number of it off hand. and as far as proof of medical ....I just photocopied the receipt and document that we got from the doctor. I wasn't sure if they actually needed it or not either, because my husbands medicals are already on file. It cant hurt to add it again (imo)

I'm just on implied status as my work permit ran out before we sent in our app,so I'm wondering which of these am I now applying for to get my owp?
