Information Needed - CHC Islamabad

Hi,

I've recieved an offer from uOttawa for Winter 2013. I have also applied to McGill and Concordia but have yet to recieve a reply from them.

Can I apply for a study permit/visa on the basis of uOttawa's letter and if I get admitted to McGill (for example), then use that study permit for the new uni. Both are M.Eng programs with similar durations. However, the issue that I see here is that since the two unis are in Quebec (for which we need the CAQ) but uOttawa is in Ontario. What do you guys suggest? Has anyone seen such a case before?

You have to select one uni because yes Quebec has CAQ prob.So select one university and go for it .Best of luck

Thanks. But can't we apply for CAQ separately of the study permit?

You can apply for CAQ Seperately of Permit, but problem is that when ur CAQ will be approved the Quebec authorities will email/fax a copy of your CAQ to the CHC Islamabad what will happen we don't know....

Thanks! I think my best bet would be to apply on uOttawa's acceptance and then see how things turn out on the McGill front.

Exactly. You can use your study permit for McGill but after getting a CAQ seperately and then informing CHC in writing. They wouldn't need to process your file again.

the standard time for chc Islamabad applicants is 11 weeks, if you really wanna go to Mcgill.....why not wait a little bit for the acceptance decision from Mcgill and then apply for visa......you still have about 4 months from now

But keep in mind that CAQ requires 20days processing time + courier time
