Indian passport submission and OCI

I am submitting Passport surrender application along with OCI application together.

OCI – it says submit passport copies of first page and last page along with copies of observation passport. What does mean by observation copies of passport?

If do not have original passport submit notarized copies of passport, since I’ll submit my original passport to them with passport surrender application. Does it still required to get password copies notarized?

Observation copy : First page with photo and last page with addrss
No need to notarize if you are submitting original passport - just self attest.
