Dear All,

I have been awarded only 25 points on my express entry profile even though CRS tool showed 50 points for Foreign work experience. I have withdrawn and created a new profile, but still, I got the same score.

Foreign work experience: More than 3 years
NOC code - 2173 Software engineers and designers A

Due to this, my score is at 394 (instead of 419) :-(

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Check your answers related to work experience. Especially the one related to number of hours of work per week.

Did you answer 8 or 40?

Check the previous answer where it states "Thanks a lot for raising this, I just checked my profile and I gave 8 instead of 40. I am waiting for the update. "

I actually have it as 45 as my jobs back home were 9 hours a day. Is that going to be an issue? Shall I just change it to 40?

Based on my work experience which is in Canada it is usually 8 hours per day ( 40 hours per week).
In the work experience section of the PR application, that specific field needs to be filled with the number of hours worked per week, not per day.
Standards are different based on the country as far as a full-time job if it is not less than 30 hours hopefully that should be fine.
I am not an expert just stating based on the information on the website (https://www.canada.ca/en/services/jobs/workplace/federal-labour-standards/work-hours.html).

I have the same prespective, but I am confused on why did my foreign score go down when I have more than 6 years of experience.
Thank you
