My family and I were recently granted PR in Canada. We will officially "land" by plane in a few months. However, my parents in the USA are offering to give me one of their cars (used) as a gift to help me get started in Canada. They say they will keep their insurance and plates to make it easier and cheaper. They are even willing to drive it across the border, so I don't have to exit Canada before I get my PR card.
My questions:
-Will this be legal?
-Can I drive their car in Canada legally? It will be insured and they say that their plan will cover me and the car in Canada.
-Does anyone see any problems with this plan?
-Has anyone done this or heard of anyone doing this?
Any advice, experience or comments would be sincerely appreciated.
