I know, most people take the plane and land somewhere in Canada. I, on the other hand, was thinking of flying to Florida, buy a 1969 Cadillac, drive it to Virginia to visit my sister and then across the USA to LA and up along the coast to Vancouver BC.
Any problems with that? Or should I drive through Canada instead?

hi MikeNZ,you will really enjoy the trip as programmed. don't forget to visit Universal Studios, Hollywood in LA :
1969 Cadillac will be admissible provided it has not been substantially modified and meets the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards or the U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, bears a statement of compliance label affixed by the original manufacturer, has not been altered. You may require DRLs in BC ,I m not sure.
its better to shoot an email to
http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/contact-us.htm#freq and keep a copy of their reply with u to avoid any botheration at border.
u need to fax US Customs and Border Protection the following items(3 business days before you are looking to bring the car over):
Bill of Sale
A vehicle export sheet(if you don't have one I can e-mail this to you).
A copy of the title, you will need original title when actually bringing the car over.
u have 2 pay tax at the border and when you register the car in Canada.
You will also need to be inspected in Canada before then will let you register it.
try to reach at border between 9 am to 3 pm
If you don't mind my asking, may i ask u why r u bringing 1969 ,why dont you go with
audi ;D ;D ;D
