Hi all , I am so confused with IELTS minimum requirement. CIC website says CLB7 is the min for SWP.

a lot of sources say CLB7 is 6 in all 4 categories. However, others refer to that min requirement is 7 in all 4 categories .

Now , Do I have to get 7 or 6 in all categories (as min) to be eligible?
I have taken the tests few times and I always get one of the categories below 7 :(

Hi, I used the data on this URL:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

You need a CLB of at least 7 on each band. Per the chart on the URL above, that requires a minimum of the following:
Reading 6.0
Writing 6.0
Listening 6.0
speaking 6.0

However, to get better points, aim for a CLB 9 or higher, which requires a minimum of:
Reading 7.0
Writing 7.0
Listening 8.0
speaking 7.0

If you are confident in your ability and you know you did your best, you may opt to have it re-marked (involves a fee but if the re-mark is in your favor this will be reimbursed) which was what I did to get bumped up from CLB 8 to a CLB 9.

Thank you for your reply. yes this is what I thought . you got it up to CLB9? thats awesome
I got
L 7
R 7
W 6
S 8

However, everytime I use these results in my CIC profile, it tells me that I am not eligible. I am not sure where I am doing wrong !!

Thanks! Only got the CLB 9 because I sent it back for re-scoring... ;)

Let me double check, I have heard they recommend at least a 7.0 for each band....

Thank you. Could please tell me what categories were re-marked up? I heard that you chances only in S and W. L and R are more likely to be solid score .

thank you

I think that is a good inference. I only attempted enquiry for writing. The IELTS listening and reading tests feel more objective and can be scored without subjectivity while the speaking and writing tests can involve a small amount of subjectivity on the part of the examiners.
