IELTS Requirement.

Hi,

I am currently gathering documents for PR application under CEC. I will be including my wife in my application who is on an open work permit. I came here on an ICT closed work permit. I understand that i have to take the IELTS exam to prove fluency in english. Is this requirement applicable to my wife as well or just me - the primary applicant?

Not required for the dependent - she should only do the IETLS if you wish to claim CRS points for it.

I would suggest that she also give IELTS because its not necessary but you will get some points on the file which will help you to get the invitation early.

If you are not falling on the DRAW, if you are shot of 10-20 points then ask your spouse to do the exams as well.
If not its not recommended.

Thanks for all your responses. I think we are good on points so my wife will skip ielts.
