Hello Guys,

I have just applied for my PR under FSW NOC213, I am born and bought up in India (english medium education through out in school and bachelor degree along with several certifications); although living and working in Dubai for past 7 years. I have enclosed 3 page letter proving my proficiency in english.

Do you think CIC will consider or even read such letters as "evidence of proficiency"?

Has anyone been in similar situation and have they exempted IELTS test?

Please let me know / comment ?

We have acheived a lot of degrees and experience. So, why not take the test and make it easy for you the Officer who will review the case. We have paid a lot of money for this process. So, why not a few more dollars to give us peace of mind.

The test is quite easy as well.

If i were you chohuhans, i would do the IELTS, even though you studied in english and you have all the certificates of the world,
remember english is not your mother-tongue. It's never too later.

same thing with me
I had entire education in english and even a masters degree from USA
but they send me a letter asking to take IELTS and it caused a delay of about 3 to 4 months in my application
Please take IELTS or it will just delay the entire thing

Thank you all, I would go ahead and take IELTS.

I have my wife also on my application, would she also be required to take IELTS?

Also please advice if I should wait for AOR because I have just sent my initial application to NS.

IELTS is must. Even Ph.D. degree holders from Ivy Leauge have been asked to submit score. Written submission is acceptable but you will never get more than "moderate". So if you are commfortable with points, there is no need for IELTS.

why would you hope someone is forced to give IELTS lol.

Only the principal applicant needs to do IELTS because the points are only for the principal applicant.

Thanks guys.

After your feedback, I am convinced that I have to give IELTS although I have to wait for my initial AOR because what if the application is rejected for some reason the IELTS exercise would be a total waste for me.
