Just thought I would post a little update. Since getting my PR card in February, I travelled home a few weeks ago to see my family after over 2 years! It was a great visit.

Flying back into Canada was easy. I filled in my declaration form, and because I am a PR, I got to go into the same line as citizens. This was a really nice surprise, as I thought I would still have to go in the line for non-canadians. It meant my spouse and I actually got to go through together .
I showed the border officer my passport and PR card and he asked what I spent the money on my declaration form on (clothes, lol). Then we were free to go . It is such a relief to be able to travel freely now.

Congrats on your first trip with PR. Two years is a long time. Your family must have been very happy.
