Is there no provision where you can prove that your income is not sufficient from Swedish pension due to your situation? so you can work too
The job he had had no long term disability option?
If your getting income from 1 place ( however small ) not sure if welfare will work but not an expert
User credit cards and keep paying minimum till the tide gets over

DaleandMonica, as much as we all want to help, no one on this forum can tell you whether you will qualify for welfare, disability etc. You would need to contact your provincial social assistance office.

I suggest that you contact the Canadian Cancer Society. They will be able to provide you with advice and support about finances and anything else you need to know. Good luck.
