Coming to the original question.
Frankly, people do it the other way round. First complete ACCA and then MBA. I don't know how it wud look to the VO since MBA is a superior qualification than ACCA and people dont really 'downgrade' instead they upgrade, know what i mean?
Junaid, I cant agree with you on this statement. it seems that you have little knowledge on MBA and ACCA. Please don't comment unless you are sure.

You cant use superior or upgrade or downgrade or any words like this when comparing ACCA to MBA. it was a REAL STUPID COMMENT

in short, MBA is specifically designed to introduce students to the various areas of business such as accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, operations management, etc. its purpose to prepare personnel for managerial level posts which require precise knowledge of different aspects of business.

on the other hand, The ACCA Qualification develops accounting knowledge and skills as well as professional values. It has strong focus on professional values, ethics and governance. its sole purpose to develop one's professionalism and ethics in accounting which will lead him/ her to be a finance professional in any sector. now he he can be an Auditor or analyst etc as you said.

i could not comment without personally hitting you because it's really unfortunate that you are an ACCA student and yet you dont know what is ACCA. Pls if you have any confusion contact ACCA local office or email to ACCA,,but gather more knowledge before commenting like that.

Good Sir, ACCA indeed promotes Professional Ethics and standards, they actually have a whole damn paper for it (P1).
And no, it doesn't lead you to onlt 'finance sector'.
Good sir. My brother, is an ACCA affiliate, an MBA holder and a CFA holder.

'precise knowledge of different aspects of business. '
You said it yourself. It is sort of a specialistaion in a field.

Keeping that in mind. Promoting ethics does not superceed MBA? Why do you think you can claim an exemption in MBA after ACCA? That's because ACCA is a more vast, general sort of certification. Everything is taught here. Management Accounting, Audit, Taxation, Financial Accounting, Financial Management and as you pointed out Ethics and Values of an Accountant.
Whereas MBA can actually be done in MBA Finance let's say, that's a more specific field. You don't expect to find audit or taxation there. It is and will be limited to Finance (Investment Appraisal, Project Evaluation, Risk Management, both Foreign and Domestic)
I know this, too, cuz my brother did MBA Finance and i read his books for fun. Now if i am studying a specific field, how then do i convince a person to allow me to study a certification which is a general certification?

It's a tough sell in my opinion, but worth trying.
And frankly, i don't think this 'hitting' business is of any use. It can be a discussion. If i am wrong, you can correct me, and i can do the same if you are wrong.

'Please don't comment unless you are sure.'
I am sure of what i know, hell i have it running in my family.

So please, wherevr your from, Pakistan i am assuming, things work wayyy differently there. Hell HEC gave ACCA the level of Masters over there so it's all fun and games for them.
And i won't call ur comment stupid because i enjoy discussion. I don't call it 'hitting'

And yes, the only time u can actually claim the full exemtption of half courses in MBA is when you actually receive your Bsc Hons. in Applied Accounting and/or a Diploma in Advanced Accounting from OBu.
THAT is why MBA is superior to ACCA. I have an MBA degree, but i want to go back to doing a certification which will get me bachelors? Does that make sense? That's downgrading there.
Ever heard of a PhD student applyin for bachelor's?
It's a tough sell

u cant compare both of them 1 is certification and other is degree, only ACCA give u nothing as multinational companies usually hire CA's especially in Pakistan ACCA's are not authorized to conduct audit so MBA with ACCA is a good option, u can do MBA before or after ACCA its up to u. because both are different things you might enter a certificate program if you'd like to change careers or stay current in your field and its prepare u for one career. While degree programs allow you to prepare for several careers instead of one specific position. Certification give more practical knowledge while Degree give u comprehensive knowledge both on theoretical and practical field which will help u in long term.

junaid bro...
i agree that i shouldn't hit u personally and i usually dont do that....but ur post was insulting ACCA qualification!!!!!,,,,

but still u didnt get the point,,,,,,

MBA is an academic qualification and ACCA is a professional qualification.

As you brother is both MBA and ACCA holder....can you please ask him,,,WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION? and ARE THOSE EASILY COMPARABLE USING THE WORDS YOU USED?.....i think he'll able to make u understand my point.

And no, i dont consider it hitting. If i am wrong, i will learn from you. And vice cersa. It's all a learning process when your on forums and interacting with other people.

However, i wud still give the same opinion to the thread starter. But ofcourse, it's completelly based on my knowledge. Am sure yours differs, and i respect that.

I did my BBA in Finance at the best University and department for Finance in Bangladesh. Doing my MBA in finance. But here is my opinion: Go for CFA if you like Finance. It has more demand.
See job market has also supply and demand side. Now-a-days lot of students are doing ACCA. You can make yourself different. But the choice is yours. One is Pure Finance path another is Accounting based path.

Read it closely, word to word. Stop giving people opinions based on facts which doesn't exist
