I am trying to rent an apartment and the landlord is asking for Bank Statements. But I get paid in cash? What can I do to get proof of income?

Your status in Canada and how long have you been in Canada will be a factor. Assume you also realize that cash income should be declared on your taxes. Do you have a tax return with your income? Are you legally able to work? How much can you show in savings because others in similar situations show they have good amount of savings and often offer to pay 3-6 months of rent in advance.
