Dear bsrk68 ,

I have a question related to immigration.

I have filed for immigration on (nov 2009 ). I was on study permit during that time.

I got acknowledgement on (jan 2010 ) -

They moved my application to Newyork office on ( july 2010 )

The status changed to in process on (oct 2010).

Now i am waiting for my medicals. But there is no update after the status changed to in process.

My question:

I have completed my studies in Sep 2010 and i got my open work permit. I got my SIN also.

Do i need send this info to immigration office?

or do i need to wait until then ask for any further documentation...

Please let me know..

I really appreciate your help.

I will be waiting for your reply..
Thank You in Advance.

Thanks,
There is no need to do anything at the moment, until you hear back from them. You could however send in an update enquiry with your file number on-line through their website email (if the processing times HAVE exceeded). There's no need to update SIN etc.

Good luck.

Hi,
I wanted to ask you about which part to canada to try to settle in. I am from New Delhi, a Doctor, my wife has worked as a hospital administrator in New Delhi ( Owned by me ). She has a BSc Degree from Univ. of Delhi. No formal qualification in Hospital administration but a good experience in Indian set up. What can we do to get on with a reasonable career. If it may be wise, we can invest $ 1 million. Both speak excellent English but no French.
Thank you in advance.

Off Late I am hearing "Edmonton" winning hands down, or Winnipeg. However, Toronto is more business friendly just because it has a larger consumer base if you wish to invest. Be sure to choose the right business....otherwise, in North-America, "Riches to Rags" is not uncommon. One of the safest investment in Canada is Real Estate (Purchased at the right price though).

Good Luck

Dear Bsrk,

thanks so much for the information i have garnered from this forum...very invaluable i promise! i am a Hr professional and currently pursuing "the canadian dream" ;D...My question;
1. is this (HR) a sought after profession over there?
2. in which provinces are my best options for Jobs( i visited kamloops this februry, not sure i would like to reside there though)
3. which cities are known for their" lovely weather"(not too cold, not too hot)

Once again many thanks for your invaluable contribution...God bless u.
Hello Friend:

Here are some answers.

1. is this (HR) a sought after profession over there?

YES. TRY TO WORK TOWARDS A "CHRP" DESIGNATION (IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE ALREADY)

2. in which provinces are my best options for Jobs( i visited kamloops this februry, not sure i would like to reside there though)

CALGARY, EDMONTON, WINNIPEG, VANCOUVER AND TORONTO (IN THAT ORDER)

3. which cities are known for their" lovely weather"(not too cold, not too hot)

VANCOUVER / VICTORIA (B.C.). But being Canadian, FEAR NO COLD.

Best wishes

Hi.

If its not too much, can i have a sample of a resume. I believe the format will be different from the ones that I send here in Manila. Am just waiting for my passport with Visa and hopes to be there 3Q of this year. My email addy is pipoysmash @ yahoo.com. Many thanks.
You will have plenty of time here to work through resumes once you land. Try Monster.ca for Sample resumes in Canada.

Hope this helps.

I am always biased towards the Health Care field, as you can see from my previous posts. A Med Lab Tech or a Phlebotomist has GREAT career opportunuties in Canada. However, you will have to do some local accreditions. Its good, its easy and well paying.

Good luck

These are expensive areas. Moreover, I am not too too familiar where the Filipino community is settled in Downtown. One area that I know of for sure is on Bathurst from Wilson to Finch. There are apartments and schools.

Cheers

Hi,

I would like to have your kind comments over job opportunities for the following interlinked professions at Toronto or around.

1. Cosmetics & Toiletries production supervisors or formulators

2. Chemist in general

3. Supply Chain related jobs, (specially when you have MBA (Supply Chain Management).

I hope you don't mind.

Thanks in advance. :)

Hi lucky I came across your post here. By any chance do you know any employers that would be willing to provide an AOE in restaurant management field?
