I am self employed from 1998 to 2011, how do I write my experience letter

dear friends,
My wife is applying for study visa in uni.. i also applying for spousal OWP..i want to submit all my experience certificates from my previous companies..i have gap in work though i am self employed from 1998 to 2001..i did Photoshop and Page Maker works in my home and earned money. so how to write my own relieving letter or experience letter regarding this..
please help me guys... ???

Did you pay taxes? Then provide Notice of Assesment from the government.
Do you have written contracts?
Also find your clients (reliable ones) and ask them to write you references.

but its not like a big business for paying tax and getting reference from clients...just a computer work for supporting me in my home, on that time i studied B.com in an open university (correspondence course).

bro your clients can give u references about your work... watever work u have done .. u must have done it through any freelancing site or in direct contact vid the clients .. ryt??

u can show those three years as studies and part time jobs.....

but for better advice u shud opt for a consultant they can help u by advicing u or showing u some ways....
