How CIC send the Oath Invitation

According to https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/canadian-citizenship/ceremony/schedule/notificationsregarding.html it's supposed to be by mail. The same is true for the interview notification However, it appears that email is actually being used as well, depending on the application...
