How and when does CPC Mississauga confirm receipt of application?

What confirmation can I expect from CPC that they've received the application package?
How long does it take for them to send this confirmation?

I sent mine by canada post.

It arrived on the 7th. They confirmed this on the 21st by email to the sponsor.

It takes them a while. If tracking says they received it just sit back and wait. They have it. It just takes them a while to acknowledge they received it.

You won't receive any confirmation that they have received the application until a visa officer opens it and starts processing it. Also note that some visa officers will send out an AOR, Acknowledgement of Receipt, and others don't. Therefore, you may not hear anything from Mississauga until a decision has been made on Stage 1. We did receive an AOR from Mississauga, but many others didn't.
