I have received CIC confirm my application has been passed to HK Visa office since early March. I applied under Spouse Sponsorship for Spouse living abroad (my husband is Citizen and has been living with me for 11 years in HK since we got married).
I refer to CIC reference for HK Visa office the processing time is 10 months. I wonder if there are any recent approved cases and my questions,
1. how many months it had taken for your case?
2. when were you asked to produce a police report - I was told that the 'policy report' request is usually a good sign indicating your application is close to final stage of approval. is that true?
3. when you received the approval confirmation, how many months before the visa deadline for going to Canada for landing ?

thanks.

Hi smile1212.

Forum members said 80% cases shorter than processing time @ CIC stated.
I am similar case as yours. AOR2@ beginning of Mar. Current status App Rec'd.

My actual status is IP, that shows on GCMS report.
I also applied police cert. Mid of Apr. Cert. Filing at Cic in 4 weeks.
Suggest your sponsor order ATIP GCMS note that you know more deep the app status. It's take 30 working days.

Thanks for the sharing, LN9714 and Mumof3.

For Mumof3, would you please help me know more about 'order ATIP GCMS note'? what is it? how do my sponsor (husband) order it?

Also, i am not familiar with the term AOR2. What is it?

sorry for coming back with question, and really appreciate your patience and help.

just feel so unclear with what steps and responses to expect from CIC or HK Visa office from now on up to getting the visa grant for landing. thanks so much.

will check out the other forum session on 'HK timeline' too. Thanks.

to add more specific, so far i only received two emails as response,
first - an email on March 1 the message being CIC received my application on Dec 12, 2014
second - an email on March 5 with an attached letter dated March 4 saying sponsor status has been confirmed and the application is transferred to HK Visa Office.

then no response until now...

i have been trying to 'check my application status' on CIC website according to the link provided; however after inputting the UCI and other required data on the site, it then gives me the message 'sorry we do not have information on your application...only application being processed will be shown on status....'

therefore i am not sure if i have reached the so called AOR2 stage yet. thanks for helping me to clarify and understand the sequence of coming steps or responses to wait for.

Thanks.
