Hi!

My Mother went to visit Canada on June 2014. She was granted 6 months of stay during her entry which was supposed to be due on December 2014. I submitted an application for her extension before her authorized stay ended. December has passed and we still didn't get the result of her application putting her on "Implied Status" while waiting for the result. But then she decided to go back home on January 2015. That is one month after her authorized stay ended.

I got an email from CIC today requesting for her medical report as a new requirement when applying for an extension.

Does she still need to undergo the medical exam even if she is no longer in Canada?

And will there be any negative effects when she decide to go back and visit us again? ( She has multiple entry TRV)

No.

No.

Regardless to make sure everything is done properly, you should withdraw the application. It is different to not complete the medicals because this serves you no purpose anymore than to not complete them out of negligence.

Hi Jalex!

Thank you for your response. But do you think there will be an issue when she decide to comeback here in Canada since she over stayed for a month in her last visit?

She was on implied status => SHE DID NOT OVERSTAY.

No, she won't have problems. The most she could be asked about this period, where she can answer all of these events. I would advise to carry a copy of the confirmation of submission for the extension (withdrawing the application serves this purpose) as well as any other documents that can prove that she was on implied status for that period.

Again, there should be no problems.
