Help !!! related to passport expiry

Hey friend I am one of the student to Thompson rivers university British Columbia ( course starting Jan 2013 - 2 years ).
My query is that my passport expires on 17th sept 2013 and CHC issued my visas till 17th Aug 2013.
At POE they issued me student permit till 17th Aug 2013 that is for 8 months.....I am really tensed and I really don't know weather they will re issue my permit or not.....seniors plz adwise.

2. Apply now otherwise you will left high and dry near passport expiry as you will have to apply separately for visa extension as well.
