Health card once PR is applied for

was told that once you get the email confirmation that your PR application has been received you then can take that paper to get the Govt Health card.
Is this right?
Or so you have to wait to get the PR a card in the year process time.

You have to be a resident living in Ontario for three months before you can get health insurance here. The time will start from date of landing.

You have to be a resident living in Ontario for three months before you can get health insurance here. The time will start from date of landing.
Yes, true - but you can actually apply before you have been there three months - although you will only be covered from your 'three month date'.

We applied after we had been there just over two months and they were perfectly happy about that - as long as you have all of the required 'proofs'.
