We typed ours out, but we also had to make some last minute additions and corrections, so those were done by hand. It wasn't a problem.. as long as they can read it and it's black ink, I'm sure it's fine.
LOL, I don't think they'll be pissed if you handwrite the additional details. But they will be pissed if your writing is messy and they can't read it! So you'll have to decide that. If you have access to a computer with a printer, I don't see why you wouldn't just type up any additional details. It will be much clearer for them to read. Anyway, regardless of whether you decide to handwrite or type your additional info., make sure to label any extra page with: your name, DOB and page number in the top left margin and then the title of the form (eg. Application to Sponsor and Undertaking) and the question number.
the full version of adobe (acrobat, not just reader) will allow you to save edits.. Ours were filled out, saved, sent back and forth for edits, and eventually printed, directly from adobe... it's all in the version you have (acrobat is not free tho)

That is exactly what we did as well (send back and forth the forms in various states of completion, I have the full Acrobat 9, my wife only had the free Reader and it would not save. We fished all our paperwork and forms on another visit were we were both together. It's defenently a good idea to have your partner re-read all your forms and just do some simple fact checking.
