Got Student Visa- General Applicant- Only in 11 days!

Dear All,

I'm so happy today! Seems like everything is beautiful, clear and calm everywhere around me.

Today I received my study Visa. Humble thanks to everybody who had contributed to this forum currently, or in the past.

It was the information I received in this forum that made me successful. I have nobody in Canada as a relative or friend, and I decided not to use any consultant for my Visa.

The information I got from this forum made all the difference between success and failure. I had 8 years of gap in my full time studies, I applied as a General candidate, with no study loan and even then the processing took just 2 weeks.

I'm also grateful to CHC New Delhi for conducting a superb seminar, and then allocating me visa in less than 2 weeks (as a general application, with no study loan, gng for a community college).

I wish luck to everybody on this forum. May God help you in getting the visa soon.

Here are my timelines and details:

CHC: New Delhi

Category: General

Study Loan: None

IELTS: Band 8

Funds: 30% maintained over past few months, 70% added one week before visa application. Main source is salary.

Study Type: Post graduate Certificate of One Year, Seneca @ York

Previous Education: B.E and MS

Medical Call Request 5 working days (excluding 1+1 day of transit from VFS at both ends)

Interview Waived

Visa after resubmission 6 working days (excluding 1+1 day of transit from VFS at both ends)

Please never loose hope and always fight till your last breath. Success will come at your door soon!

I was working right after my BE and have worked with several fortune 50 companies in India. I've planned to take a year long sabbatical for higher studies after 8 years of corporate work experience.

I reversed engineered the visa application process and equally worked on three areas on which VO can issue rejection:
1. Study Mismatch
2. Financial Stability/Funds
3. Home Ties

Various instruments like funds, SOP, course details were part of either of the above three areas. Unlike what people think about the 4 month fund period, I had added 70% the required funds in my account only a week before applying for the visa (30% was there before). I was not even called for the interview.

I'd maintained SOP, Checklist, list of forms etc in word and excel docs. Except SOP, I can upload everything. My original SOP contains a lot of personal information so I will create a template and will upload it as a reference.

btw, I'm planning to create a blog to help students like me who had applied on their own for their study permit. That blog will contain everything you had suggested and will help students to realize their dream.

I plan to start the blog within few weeks.

Can we manage to do medical in five days?

Hi Kavya,

Once we get a medical request, we have to do do things:
1. Book an appointment with the DMP (Doctor) near your location
2. Submit the passport + copy of medical letter + Medical receipt after 5 days of Medical

The appointment date could be as far as 10 days, and could be less than 24 hours depending upon the time/month you get your medical call. Near the semester start, the appointment dates are far compared to the lean period like now.

@ Gs... is there anyway to speed up ur visa process... did u do something special for that.. its been 4 months exactly that i have submitted my application and i havent got it yet.. got medical on 24 march afer applying on 7th feb but still waiting.. i have mailed and faxed them so many times but useless.. i am from Pakistan.. Can u suggest something man???
