GIC - do I need to pay for GIC if I am getting a scholarship?

Hello guys,

I got offer letter from lethbridge university for PhD, i have accepted it and in the study permit one of the requirement is GIC.
So I would like to know do I still need to pay for GIC if I am getting a complete scholarship covering tuition fees and my living expenses?

I don't think it's needed. Even I am going for my PhD at McGill with full scholarship like you and haven't paid the GIC. Your application falls into nonsds category. Hope this helps
