Hi there!
Does anyone know how long does it take to receive a Health card in Ontario after getting proved for PR upon landing?

You can apply for the health card right away, but it will take 3 months from your landing date before your coverage begins.

thanks for really quick answer but does it work like that only in Ontario? Or can I land in Alberta as my husband works in that province?

You can land wherever you want. I believe in Alberta, you can get health care immediately and there is no wait.

The relevant question is where will you be living, I believe. Health coverage is from your 'home' province. If your husband works in Alberta but you live in Ontario, I think you have to go by Ontario's rules.

My understanding is you can choose where you want to live though (except Quebec which requires extra steps).

So if the poster needs health coverage immediately and her husband already works/resides in Alberta... it would be no problem to land and then live/reside with her husband in Alberta right from the beginning. They could then move to Ontario later if needed.
